Use it on kitchen tablets

The app runs on one PC, usually in the office. Kitchen access lets tablets and phones on the same wifi open recipes in their web browser. Nothing is installed on the tablets.

Kitchen access is included with the Commercial license. The PC running the app needs to stay on while the kitchen uses it.

1. Turn on kitchen access

In the app, go to Settings, then Kitchen access, and switch it on. The app shows an address that looks like http://192.168.1.25:3000.

2. Open the address on a tablet

On a tablet connected to the same wifi as the PC, open the web browser and type in the address exactly as shown. The recipe list appears.

3. That's it. No sign-in needed

Tablets see recipes and build sheets as a guest out of the box. If you want to control access, create accounts under Settings, then Users: view-only accounts for tablets, or editor accounts for staff who update recipes without full admin rights.

4. Save it to the home screen

In the tablet's browser menu, choose Add to Home Screen. From then on, staff tap one icon and they're in.

If the tablet can't connect

  • Check that the tablet is on the same wifi network as the PC, not cellular data
  • Check that the PC is on and the app is running
  • If Windows asks about firewall permission when you turn kitchen access on, choose Allow
  • Still stuck? Email info@newelldigital.com with a photo of the setting screen
